03 — Why we're different

Why Bellingham homeowners trust us.

Three promises we actually keep — on every single job. It's the reason our customers send their neighbors.

i.

Your neighbors' demolition crew.

Our crew lives here. Same zip code, same weather, same building codes. We know the older housing stock, the wet-climate rot, and the NWCAA rules that shape how demo gets done on your street.

09 — Questions

Frequently asked questions.

The questions we hear most from Bellingham homeowners, answered straight.

How much does demolition cost in Bellingham?
It depends on the job. A typical interior or kitchen gut-out runs $2,000 to $7,500, a full single-family teardown $8,000 to $25,000, concrete removal $4 to $12 per square foot, and a deck or fence teardown $600 to $3,500. Haul-away and disposal are included. The required asbestos and lead survey on a pre-1980 home is quoted separately because it is regulated work. Send a quote request and we'll give you an exact number for your project.
Do I need a permit, and who pulls it?
Most full-structure teardowns need a City of Bellingham demolition permit, and tear-outs tied to a remodel usually ride along with the building permit. We tell you up front exactly what your job needs and handle the coordination, along with the required asbestos survey and the Northwest Clean Air Agency notification.
What about asbestos and lead in my old house?
Homes built before 1980 very often have asbestos in floor tile, popcorn ceilings, pipe wrap, and siding, plus lead-based hazards on anything pre-1978. We schedule the required survey by a certified inspector first and, if anything turns up, coordinate certified abatement before demo. We never knowingly disturb regulated material.
Will you leave a mess in my yard?
No. Haul-away and a broom-clean, ready-for-the-next-trade site are part of every quote, not an add-on. We load and haul the debris to the Recycling and Disposal Services transfer station, sweep up, and leave the site clean and, on request, graded.
Will you wreck the parts I want to keep?
No. For gut jobs and partial demo we protect the structure, the floors and finishes you are keeping, and the neighbor's property. Selective demo is careful, planned work done in coordination with your contractor and engineer, not just swinging a hammer.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Bellingham Demolition Co. is operated by Apex Builderz LLC, a licensed, bonded, and insured Washington general contractor, WA Contractor Reg. # APEXBBL749B1, UBI 604-945-342. We're happy to show you the paperwork. Just ask.
How fast can you get here, and how much is it?
Fast. We offer a free on-site walkthrough, a clear written quote, and most homeowners hear back the same day during business hours, Monday to Saturday, 7am to 6pm. If you've got something that needs to come down, we want to talk about it.
